How to Download Videos From Twitter / X
X does not offer a download button for videos, which is why a downloader is the standard way to save a clip you want to keep. The method is the same one you already know from Instagram.
Find the tweet with the video, tap Share and choose Copy Link — or copy the tweet URL from your browser. Paste it into an X video downloader and pick a quality. The MP4 downloads to your device in seconds.
X stores most videos in a few quality levels, and the tool lists them when available. Choose the largest for archiving or editing, and a smaller one if you just need a quick preview or have limited storage.
Animated GIFs on X deserve a special note: they are not actually GIF files. X converts them into short looping MP4 videos, so a downloader saves them as MP4. They still loop in most players, and you can convert them back to GIF with any free converter if you need that format.
As with every platform, only public tweets work, and the video belongs to its poster. Save it for yourself, credit the creator if you share it, and never use it to mislead — out-of-context clips are one of the fastest ways to spread misinformation.
