How to Download Instagram Reels With Audio (Step-by-Step)

Reels are short, sound-driven videos, and losing the audio ruins half the point. The good news is that a Reel's audio is part of the video file itself, so when you download the original MP4 you keep the trending song, the voiceover and every sound effect exactly as the creator posted it.

Start by opening the Reel in Instagram and tapping the Share icon (the paper plane). Choose Copy Link. Then open a Reels downloader in your browser, paste the link into the box, and press Download. Within a few seconds you will see a preview with the video's thumbnail, and a Download button that saves the MP4 to your device.

On iPhone, the video lands in your Downloads folder or Photos app depending on your browser; on Android it usually goes straight to your Gallery. On a computer, check the Downloads folder. If a Reel has no sound after downloading, the original post was probably muted or the audio was removed for licensing reasons — try the Reel again, or check whether the sound plays inside Instagram itself.

A few honest rules keep this safe and legal. Only download public Reels, use them for personal offline viewing or inspiration, and never repost someone else's work as your own. Creators put real effort into Reels, so credit them if you ever share a clip anywhere.

If you only want the sound, use a Reels-to-MP3 tool instead of saving the whole video. Either way, the process takes under a minute, needs no app installation, and never asks for your Instagram password — any site that does is not worth trusting.
